Visit the Out of the Woods marquee curated by Hilary Burns MBE, where I will demonstrate broom making of all kinds - from smaller hand brooms to hearth-sized brooms to full-length besoms and Shaker-style brooms!
Ask questions, watch green craftspeople at work, purchase handmade goods and enjoy all the other talented makers there on Hilary's invitation!

Join me for an engaging and hands-on broom-making workshop - today we make Hens Wings - a hand broom for small spaces you’ll take home with you!
The workshop will guide you through the process of selecting materials, the fundamentals of broom making, tying the broom itself, and an introduction to broom history and lore.
No previous experience is necessary; leave with a fully functional hand broom to take home with you!
18+ with good hand dexterity in both hands.

The Frome Independent reclaims Frome’s high street once a month to showcase the best independent craftspeople, designers, makers, food producers and vintage traders in the South West.
The market takes place on the first Sunday of the month from March to December and strives to be ‘more than a market’, incorporating live music, DJs, street performance, workshops and activities for children and adults alike on market days.

Workshops at MAKE SOUTHWEST - Make a Handbroom with Bristol Broomworks
Two Sessions - One Date in August (tbc)
18+ and strong hand and feet dexterity a must
Join me in August at MAKE Southwest in Bovey Tracey to learn how to handcraft a hens wing handbroom.
These brooms are perfect for smaller spaces: potting sheds, kitchen counters, hearths, camper vans - anywhere you would use a dustpan and brush.
We will cover the fundamentals of broom tying: materials selection, tools, basic skills and a little bit of history and broom lore too.
At the end of this intimate 2.5 hour session, you’ll have made your own broom to take home with you!
There will a morning session and an afternoon session. Date and times to be announced.
