Brooms for Life.
Here are some tips to keep your handmade brooms fresh and functional here in the humid conditions in the UK for many years to come:
- Do not store your broom outdoors, even under cover
- Always hang by its hanger, or stand it brush head end up
- Never stand or store it on its bristles
- To straighten bent ends, dip into warm water for an hour and reshape, hanging to dry
- Another way to straighten bent ends is to blow dry with a hair dryer on a gentle, warm setting reshaping with hands
- To prevent brittle ends, occasionally dip in warm water and hang to dry
- Always store in a moisture free, well ventilated area to dry
- Store away from direct sunlight to prevent discolouration
- If mould or mildew appears on the bristles, wipe clean with a cloth dipped in vinegar and water
